The Opportunity

We offer a full range of commercial architecture services, from initial design to project completion. Our team has experience in designing and constructing a variety of commercial spaces, including office buildings, retail spaces, and more. We're searching for a detail-oriented and proficient Part-Time Architectural Job Captain/Draftsman to join our team in an on-site capacity. This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to a variety of projects, work closely with a licensed architect, and gain valuable experience within a growing firm. You'll play a crucial role in bringing our designs to life through precise technical drawings and documentation, as well as assisting with project coordination and quality control. Internship opportunities available for the right candidate. Possibility of working into a full-time position with benefits to be discussed at a later time.

Responsibilities

* Translate architectural sketches and specifications into detailed construction documents using AutoCAD LT 2023.

* Prepare architectural drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and details.

* Collaborate with the principal architect to ensure drawings accurately reflect design intent and meet project requirements.

* Incorporate revisions and updates to drawings as necessary based on feedback and design changes.

* Maintain organized project files and documentation.

* Potentially assist in gathering measurements and information during site visits.

* Coordinate with consultants and other team members to ensure smooth project flow.

* Contribute to quality control by reviewing drawings and documentation for accuracy and consistency.

* Potentially assist in addressing RFIs and submittals during construction administration.

* Adhere strictly to all established firm standards and practices for drafting, documentation, and project procedures to ensure consistency and quality across all deliverables.

Qualifications

* Proficiency in AutoCAD LT (version 2023 strongly preferred).

* Understanding of architectural drafting principles and standards.

* Ability to interpret and translate sketches and specifications into accurate technical drawings.

* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

* A portfolio showcasing relevant drafting work.

* Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Drafting, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

* Familiarity with construction documentation and detailing.

* Basic understanding of building codes and regulations.
